My interest in photography was sparked by the classic black-and-white photography of Edward and Brett Weston. Later, the work of Ernst Haas and Shinzo Maeda was an incentive to make color images. However, my main inspiration is the art of Brice Marden, Robert Ryman, Carl André, Richard Serra, Cy Twombly, Agnes Martin and Morris Louis, as well as some of the Arte Povera movement. These all shifted the boundaries of what might constitute art and demonstrated that profoundly moving works can be created without unseemly pathos and exaggeration.

All of the photographs shown here are limited editions of five prints, whose size may vary.
